The Nuka Breaker is a melee weapon added with the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Gun Runners' Arsenal.
Characteristics
A unique rebar club, the Nuka Breaker is a Nuka-Cola sign, now re-purposed as a devastating melee weapon. It consists of a still-functioning Nuka-Cola neon sign which uses a self-contained power supply, which is mounted on a pole with an electrical cord wrapped around the top, and tape at the bottom.
It's special V.A.T.S. attack is called "Nuka-Break", at the cost of 42 action points (requires a Melee skill of 50). It does bonus electrical damage when a critical hit occurs.
Variants
- Rebar club - the weaker, heavier common variant found in the Mojave.[1]
Locations
- Mick & Ralph's, sold by Mick.
- Gun Runners, sold by Vendortron if Mick is dead.
Notes
- The critical electrical damage does not seem to have any explanation, as there is no energy source on the weapon.
Behind the scenes
- The Nuka Breaker was created as a nod to the 2011 fan-made short film and webseries Fallout: Nuka Break. The Fallout: Nuka Break team put the Nuka Breaker in episode 3 after seeing it in a pre-release screenshot of Gun Runners' Arsenal before they knew that Obsidian was referencing their series.[2][3]

"In a recent trip to Obsidian, we were luck enough to find out the sign was a nod to us. But we put it in the episode as a nod to them, before we knew that. It's all a big circle of nodding."
