    Für die Verwendung einer Waffe zum Abfeuern eines Projektils verwendet die Fallout 3 Gamebryo-Engine Nicht-Spieler Charaktere, Charaktere und Skript-Effekte. Einige dieser "Waffen" können nur von Nicht-Spieler Charakteren genutzt werden, andere kann man mittels Konsolenkommandos erhalten.

    Dasselbe gilt für die von den Begleitern verwendeten Standardwaffen. Auch diese sind in der Regel nicht dazu bestimmt, von dem Spieler verwendet zu werden.
