Allgemeines
Die Impro-Pistole gehört zu den Impro-Waffentyp, im Englischen "Pipe-Pistol", was soviel wie Rohrwaffe bedeutet; ein passender Begriff, da der Lauf dieser ballistischen Fernkampfwaffe häufig wie ein angeflanschtes Kupferrohr aussieht.
Eigenschaften
Die Impro-Pistole wird zum Impro-Gewehr, sobald ein passender Kolben verwendet wird. Das Impro-Gewehr unterscheidet sich zur Impro-Pistole hauptsächlich durch den niedrigeren Rückstoß, der Reduzierung der möglichen Aktionen im V.A.T.S., einen höheren Nahkampfschaden sowie die Nutzung des Skills/Extras Gewehrschütze sowie bei Nutzung eines Fernrohres (und ohne Automatikverschluss) Scharfschütze.
Bei der Nutzung als Pistole gelten die Skills Revolverheld, Flinke Finger, Prügler und Ruhige Hand.

Despite all these advantages, pipe guns eventually become largely obsolete once more advanced and powerful weapons become available.
Out of all the parts the naked eye can perceive, upon scrapping the player can't salvage most if not any of the aforementioned components. With Rank 1 of the Scrapper perk a basic pipe pistol can be scrapped for 4 pieces of steel while a basic pipe rifle yields 3 pieces of steel. Rank 2 of the perk adds one screw and one piece of copper to the salvage. Rank 3 changes this, sometimes getting gears, springs and even things like nuclear material for guns that have advanced mods like the recon sights.
